Forbes House Museum to hold Keechong Dinner November 7th
The talk will be on the topic ‘China’s Belt and Road Initiative – What is it and why does it matter to you?’
The Belt and Road Initiative has been called the Marshall Plan for the 21st century, a strategy for Chinese global domination, and a revitalization of the ancient Silk Road. In this talk, Michael Szonyi, Director of the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University, will explore how history can help us make sense of these contradictory images, and how regardless of whether it succeeds or fails, the Belt and Road Initiative is remaking our world.
Copies of the book “The China Questions: Critical Insights Into A Rising Power,” co-edited by Szonyi, will be available for purchase at the event.
