“Tuesday Night at the Movies” to play “The Upside”
“The Upside” to be Milton Public Library’s monthly movie choice
On Tuesday, September 24 starting promptly at 6:30 p.m., there will be a free screening of “The Upside” as part of “Tuesday Night at the Movies.” This film stars Bryan Cranston, Kevin Hart, Nicole Kidman and Julianna Maguiles. When Park Avenue billionaire Phillip Lacasse is paralyzed after a hang-gliding accident, he hires unqualified ex-con Dell Scott as his caretaker. Phil has recently lost his wife to cancer and has also lost the will to live, and Dell is the best candidate to carry out his Do Not Resuscitate edict should his health deteriorate. Phil and Dell end up forming an unlikely friendship, coming from such completely different worlds, but they end up experiencing a wonderful meeting of the minds. Phil learns to love Aretha Franklin and Dell learns to love opera, and the situation gives Dell a stable financial footing so badly needed. This is a wonderful story which will warm your heart, and it is based on the French film “The Untouchables” which tells the true tale of Philippe Pozo di Borgo. This film is rated PG-13 for suggestive content and drug use, and the running time is 126 minutes.
