Janice Mazzola to be New Pierce Middle School Assistant Principal
Assistant Principal Mazzola joins Principal Fish
Dear Pierce Middle School Community,
Milton Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Janice Mazzola as an assistant principal at Pierce Middle School.
Ms. Mazzola has served as the assistant principal of Norwell Middle School since 2009. During that time, she oversaw a student body of approximately 550 students, directly managed and supported the school’s special education program, and developed a variety of programming to meet the contemporary needs of middle school students. Ms. Mazzola has supported Norwell Middle School’s implementation of 1:1 computing, daily mindfulness programming for students, and language-based classrooms. Ms. Mazzola’s breadth of experience and passion for middle school students will be a tremendous asset to the Pierce community.
Ms. Mazzola holds a bachelor’s degree from Providence College and a master’s degree and CAGS from Fitchburg State University.
In recruiting for the assistant principal position, Milton Public Schools received 67 applications. Nine applicants met with a screening team last week to identify finalists who were interviewed by a team of district and building leaders. I wish to thank the following members of the Pierce community who participated in the screening interviews: Rachel Clancy, Deanna Magill, Sarah Pullia, Charlie Drane, Becky Padera, I’man Soloman, Elizabeth Thomas, and Dr. Nicholas Fitzgerald.
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Mazzola to the Milton community.
Sincerely,
William Fish
Principal
