Local businesses support Annual Winter Fest set for Tuesday, February 26th at Blue Hills Ski Area
Friends of the Blue Hills to host their annual Winter Fest this month
The Friends of the Blue Hills will be hosting their annual Winter Fest on Tuesday, February 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Blue Hills Ski Area. This free event offers live music from the Irish band Songs for Ceilidh, a night hike, arts and crafts, and discounted downhill skiing.
The highlight of the evening is the “Battle of the Blue Hills Chili Cook-Off,” with five local restaurants competing for the top prize. Milton caterer Stephanie McFadden, the owner of Cooking in with Stephanie, will represent Milton in the cook-off. Town officials and sponsors will serve as judges, and a People’s Choice Award will also be presented that evening.
Joe Papagno, Branch Manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Milton which is a sponsor of Winter Fest, will serve as one of the judges that evening. He visited McFadden recently to get a preview of her popular chili. Skiers, night hikers, and chili connoisseurs alike are invited to warm up next to the fireplace in the cozy ski lodge.
Blue Hills Ski will be offering discounted rates of $20 each for an all-day lift ticket, ski rental, or lesson that day. To receive the discount, print out and bring the Friends of the Blue Hills homepage FriendsoftheBlueHills.org/winterfest2019 or Facebook page.
