Local painter Donna Elliott to be featured in Wotiz Gallery throughout February
Milton Public Library to showcase works of local painter Donna Elliott
The Milton Public Library will host local painter Donna Elliott in the Wotiz Gallery during the month of February 2019, from the 1st through the 28th. Donna creates cool, colorful works of art, and she is a self-taught artist. Her work is quite unusual and eclectic, using modern and graphical images with bold and vibrant hues. She painted her first piece called “Emancipation” in January 2013. Feeling the need to celebrate her freedom to express herself through art, she painted her next piece called “Celebration.” This is what she says about her work: “I am spiritually connected to my creator, with a true passion for life and humanity. I give thanks to my Divine Creator for entrusting me with the gift to inspire others through my work. My paintings are motivating, inspiring, spiritually reviving, relaxing and fun. They each have brilliant and bold colors telling its own story. Within each painting, the viewer can see hidden stories, objects, and faces from different angles. Although my work is a reflection of myself, my paintings allow others to uniquely see themselves. Painting, for me, is a way of meditating. It takes me away from everyday life and helps me to see and share the beauty of who we are and why we are here. This is my Divine Expression.” You may go to her website – which is ddivineexpression.com – to see examples of her work and to learn more about the artist. Also, there will be a free and open reception held in the Gallery on Thursday, February 7th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. where you can view this lovely exhibit and meet the artist in person.
