East Milton Neighborhood Association recognizes Heather Bergin for her dedication and commitment to community service with its most prestigious volunteer award
Heather Bergin has been selected by the East Milton Neighborhood Association to receive the 2018 M. Joseph Manning Award for Community Service — the Association’s prestigious volunteer award for community service.
The East Milton Neighborhood Association selected Heather for her remarkable service which has greatly benefited all of Milton, supported the Association’s mission, and inspired other volunteers. Heather is an active volunteer with her children’s school; for 16 years as part of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Boston Marathon team; at a local homeless shelter; with Girl Scouts; and for her leadership with GIRL POWER. GIRL POWER is a running group for young girls, with as many as 100 girls participating in sessions and the Milton Road Race in June or the Monster Dash in October.
Ms. Bergin was chosen for her ability to improve the community and for her inspiration to others to volunteer. Milton is fortunate to have so many people who have contributed to making Milton a great community in which to live and raise families.
The award will be formally presented to Heather at a ceremony on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at The Plate in East Milton Square.
The East Milton Neighborhood Association welcomes the Milton community as we celebrate the efforts of M. Joseph Manning and Heather Bergin.
