Milton photographer Leesha Boylan to show her work in Wotiz Gallery of Milton Public Library
Wotiz Gallery to feature local photographer
Milton photographer Leesha Boylan will show her work in the Wotiz Gallery of the Milton Public Library from September lst through October 31st. In this personal project, which is titled “Available Light: Exploring Americana Through New England Cottages,” Ms. Boylan photographs objects found in antique cabins and cottages throughout New England, using only the available natural light and shooting the objects exactly as she found them. These pieces of Americana from family cottages explore ideas around leisure, the passage of time, and nostalgia. She is the photographer and owner of Leesha Haley Photography, shooting weddings, portraits, and events in the Boston area for the past 17 years. Leesha has a BFA in Photography and Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art and an M.Ed. from Bridgewater State University. She sets out to document the loveliness in the world, creating a narrative and evoking emotion through the use of light, mood, and composition. When she is not behind the lens, Leesha can be found in the classroom as a fine arts teacher in the Boston Public Schools. She also loves adventuring near and far with her husband and two daughters. There will be a free and open reception held in the Gallery from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18th where you will be able to meet the artist in person. Please come and enjoy a very unique and interesting display at the Library this Fall.
