Milton Library Foundation to honor Building Committees at October 17 gala
Granite Links event will also feature sports personality Upton Bell and his Book, “Present at the Creation: My Life in the NFL and the Rise of America’s Game.”
Food, fun, and football will be on the menu on Wednesday, October 17, at Granite Links Golf Club as the Milton Library Foundation presents its annual gala to benefit the Milton Public Library. This year’s event will be the kickoff to the 10th anniversary of the Library’s revitalization, and the Library Foundation’s Board recently voted to honor the citizen volunteers who served on the Library Study and Building Committees leading up to the 2009 reopening of the Library.
The committee members being honored include Ellen Anselone, Gene Boylan, Frank Davis, Mark Fitzgerald, Frank Giuliano, Jr., Jeffrey Gouveia, Jr., David Hall, Majorie Jeffries, G. Thomas Martinson, Susanna Badgley Place, George Tougias, and Jennifer White.
Library Director Will Adamczyk said that honoring those responsible for remaking the Library into a first-class facility was the perfect choice, “These are the people who made it happen, and we are deeply indebted to them for their hard work and for their success in making the Library into a centerpiece for our community.”
After music, hors d’oeuvres, and dinner, legendary sports personality Upton Bell will regale the audience with some of the colorful stories contained in his book, “Present at the Creation: My Life in the NFL and the Rise of America’s Game”. Mr. Bell is a former National Football League executive, including with the New England Patriots, and is a longtime talk-show host and commentator.
