BC High awards granted to Milton students

Awards handed out at a Senior Assembly

Liam Canavan, Kevin Chrisom, Denis Cogan, James Conley, Edward Curtis, Nicholas Fahy, Geoffrey Ford, Christopher Hajjar, Sean Heelen, Malcolm Herbert, Bergelin Jean, Jacob Martens, Kevin McDonough, Sachin Meier, and Tomas Sommer of Milton, 2018 graduates of Boston College High School, won special awards at a Senior Assembly, a time set aside by the school to celebrate and reward its seniors.

Canavan, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Student Council award and a Model UN / Director of External Affairs award. He plans on Clemson University in the fall.

Chrisom, who graduated with Academic Honors, won a Sports Debate Club award. He plans on Saint Anselm College in the fall.

Cogan, who graduated with Academic Honors, won a Kairos Leader award and a Concert/Chamber Choir award. He plans on Fordham University in the fall.

Conley, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Model UN/Committee Chair award, a Strength and Conditioning award and a Students for Soldiers award. He plans on Boston College in the fall.

Curtis won a Students for Soldiers award. He plans on Marquette University in the fall.

Fahy, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Dever Players Drama award, a Model UN/Committee Chair award, a Students for Bipartisanship award, a Mothers’ Guild award, a Marci Kearney Senior English award, the Rev. James Lafontaine, SJ award and he was named a Commended Scholar in the National Merit Program. He plans on Harvard University in the fall.

Ford, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won an Intramural Program award and a Stephen J. Collins French award. He plans on Boston College in the fall.

Hajjar, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Middle Eastern Club award. He plans on Cornell University in the fall.

Heelen, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a
Green Eagles award and he recieved an appointment to the US Air Force Academy.

Herbert, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won an Eagle award and a Mothers’ Guild award. He plans on Tufts University in the fall.

Jean, who graduated with Academic Honors, won a Kairos Leader award. He plans on the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in the fall.

Martens, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Choir Conductor award, an Exelauno Day award and a Fine Arts award for Drama, and he was named a Commended Scholar in the National Merit Program. He plans on Carleton College in the fall.

McDonough, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Concert/Chamber Choir award and a National Honor Society award. He plans on Georgetown University in the fall.

Meier, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Model UN/Ministre des Delegues award, a Speech and Debate Club award and a Students for Bipartisanship award, and he was named a Commended Scholar in the National Merit Program. He plans on Georgetown University in the fall.

Sommer, who graduated with Academic Honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, won a Concert/Chamber Choir award and a Fine Arts Award for Music, and he was named a Special Scholarship Candidate in the National Merit Program. He plans on the College of William and Mary in the fall.
