Milton Town Common to host sixth annual Strawberry Festival
Strawberry Festival to be held by First Congregational Church
On June 16th, hundreds of people who have discovered our mouth-watering BBQ, sweet strawberry desserts and fun family activities will gather again on Milton’s Town Common to celebrate the arrival of summer and all things strawberry.
The First Congregational Church’s Sixth Annual Strawberry Festival is a family-friendly event that features activities for young and old alike. Children and families enjoy dancing along with the DJ at the Town Gazebo, taking hayrides around the common, and climbing the challenging rock wall. Younger children can adopt a new friend at the Teddy Bear Clinic, watch their new stuffed buffy fly down the zip line, and then get their faces painted.
Our popular Silent Auction will take place during festival hours and features items such as a vacation rental on Prince Edward Island, private yoga classes, Red Sox tickets, and landscaping help for your yard.
Reverend John Allen invites all of Milton to attend. “This annual tradition is a wonderful celebration. I always enjoy the smiling faces of our town’s children as they sing and dance. Our church is committed to helping Milton expand the range of programs for our youth. The proceeds from the Strawberry Festival will be used to help us develop and expand wholesome activities for Milton’s youth.”
Admission and parking for the festival are free. There is a charge for the some activities and the food. Chef Mike Baker is proud of our barbeque menu, and people come from miles away to taste his special recipes. “Our ribs and pulled pork are smoked until flavorful and tender. Children love our mac and cheese, hot dogs, burgers, and pizza.”
The festival hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All activities and food are cash only. Find more information on fccmilton.org or by calling 617-696-8517.
Event Chairperson Ashley Emerson said “Every spring, my children ask me every week if this Saturday will be the Strawberry Festival. They can’t wait to play with their friends, have a great lunch, and enjoy strawberries. I hope that your family will join us on the 16th.”
