Meet Town Meeting Member, Precinct 9 candidate, William Ruzzo

Hello Neighbors, my name is William Ruzzo and I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Town Meeting Member representing Precinct 9.

I grew up in Milton and attended Milton Public Schools. I am grateful for the education I received at Pierce Elementary, Pierce Junior High and Milton High School. The schools and community laid the foundation for me to go on to earn a B.S. with majors in History and Economics at Worcester State University, a M.Ed. at the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a J.D. from the Massachusetts School of Law. I have taken the oath to defend the Constitution of the United States three times. In 1988 I took the oath for the first time with the U.S. Department of Defense upon enlisting in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. I took the oath a second time for the U.S. Department of State as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer serving in the Republic of Cape Verde in 1999. I took the oath a third time swearing into the Massachusetts Bar as an attorney in 2010. It is my hope to take that oath once again to serve my family and neighbors as a Milton Town Meeting Member.

Currently, I am in my seventeenth year as a History Teacher in the Boston Public Schools. I have an invested interest in the future of Milton as I raise my four daughters with my wife Liz. It is a great joy to watch our daughters Evelyn, Allison, Michela (who are at Cunningham Elementary) and Juliana (who is at Collicot, French Immersion) thrive in this town, taking advantage of the top rated public schools, competitive town athletics and Faith Formation at St. Elizabeth Church. We are blessed with the natural environment and wonderful neighbors among the Blue Hills. I look forward to the opportunity to represent my family and my neighbors at the Town Meeting.
