Randolph Ave. 500 announced for Summer 2018
Milton residents are invited to the first annual Randolph Ave. 500!
This summer, Milton residents and cut-through travelers will have the opportunity to participate in the Randolph Ave. 500!
Race Organizer and Highland Street Resident, Mario Miltetti, says he came up with the idea while almost being killed multiple times during the last year on Randolph Avenue.
Noting his racing experience in Europe and the notorious roadway’s many crashes, he stated “if we’re going to take our lives in our hands on that road and the state isn’t going to do anything about it, then we might as well turn it into a race.”
Mr. Miltetti wants residents to know that The Randolph Ave 500 will take place this summer on Randolph Avenue in Milton. You are invited now to register!
How to register:
In order to register, all you need to do is contact Mr. Miltetti at 617-867-5309. Mario says the most effective contestants will be those who regularly drive dangerously by:
- traveling at least 10 mph above the 45 mph speed limit
- weaving in and out of traffic in order to shave 90 seconds off of your arrival time
- refusing to adhere to “DO NOT ENTER” signs on abutting side streets
- running the red light at the Randolph and Chickatawbut intersection
- Facebooking behind the wheel, and/or
- aggressively tailgating drivers doing the speed limit.
In a related story, a “Frogger” like competition is in the works for this fall in front of the post office in East Milton Square.
