Return Engagements to be performed by Milton Players next weekend
Multiple shows to take place over the course of two weekends
The Milton Players closes out its 85th season with the roaring comedy, Return Engagements, directed by Marianne Phinney.
Return Engagements is a full-length comedy by Bernard Slade, which takes the audience through the lives of four couples spanning 32 years. The first act of this ingenious comedy is comprised of three vignettes showing separate couples: a tipsy actress and the bellboy who has bedded her the night before, a gutsy Polish woman who has survived World War II and a carpenter whom she chooses to father her baby, and an acid tongued columnist and his cool psychotherapist wife who are about to split up. In Act II, we meet the couples 20, 25 and 30 years later, as we learn much to our merriment how they ended up. And, we learn how, ultimately, their stories are all linked together.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. on April 27th and 28th and May 4th and 5th as well as a matinee at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6th at the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, 3 Randolph Street, Canton.
The theatre is handicap-accessible. All shows include free parking and all evening performances include complimentary wine, cheese, and crackers. Seating is cabaret style with four seats to a table.
