“Sing for Their Supper” benefit concert to be performed by Milton Community Concerts
On Saturday, February 24th at 7:00 p.m., Milton Community Concerts will present the fourth annual “Sing for Their Supper” benefit concert at First Parish of Milton (535 Canton Avenue – an accessible venue with ample, free parking). Ten top opera singers from around New England will be featured in a program of opera and musical theater. This year’s performers include: mezzo-soprano Grace Allendorf, tenor David Rivera Bozon, baritone Junhan Choi, bass-baritone Christopher Carbin, tenor Brian Landry, soprano Tamara Ryan, soprano Emily Thorner, soprano Dana Varga, baritone Ron Williams, and soprano Jin-Xiang Yu. Individually, these artists have performed around the world and appear frequently with numerous metro-area music organizations, including the Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, and Odyssey Opera. They will be assisted on the piano by Timothy Steele.
This is a FREE concert with all proceeds collected from a free-will offering to benefit Milton Food Pantry and Milton Residents Fund. All performers are donating their time and talent in support of these two important local charities. New! There will be an opportunity to win a complimentary “Supper for Two” donated by “Cooking in with Stephanie,” a new catering company in Milton. Visit her Facebook page, LIKE IT, and submit a personal message by singing a phrase of your favorite song to enter the concert contest drawing — or, just attend the concert and try your luck at winning a second “Supper for Two.”
Other upcoming MCC concerts will feature the New England Conservatory Opera Theater on Sunday, March 18th at 3:00 p.m., and a special Mother’s Day benefit concert on Sunday, May 13th at 3:00 p.m., featuring a variety of singers and dancers, to support Rosie’s Place, a women’s shelter in Boston.
