Winter clothing drive to be held as part of “Third Thursday Community Service Mitzvah Program”
As part of its “Third Thursday Community Service Mitzvah Program”, Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills will again join with Interfaith Social Services of Quincy to conduct a Winter Clothing Drive leading up to Thursday, November 16th. The synagogue’s Mitzvah Program, operating under the Jewish tenet that “performing good deeds is an obligation,” provides service to the community by both congregants and community members, and includes and involves others, such as schools, houses of worship and organizations.
New and gently used clothes can be brought to Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills at 18 Shoolman Way (off Lodge Street) in Milton starting on Sunday, November 12th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., then Monday through Wednesday between 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., and Thursday, November 16th, between 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. All types of clothing are needed for children, teenagers and adults: winter coats/jackets, tops, bottoms, shoes, boots, hats, gloves, etc., and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Please bring donations in plastic bags and, if possible, sort the clothing before packing. Clothing will be delivered to Interfaith Social Services in Quincy on Friday, November 18th. Interfaith Social Services is a multi-service center helping South Shore families and individuals in need since 1947.
