Beginning Painting
This course is designed for beginners and those who have minimal painting experience. Students will learn the basics of handling acrylic paints and brushes and explore a variety of techniques and subject matter (still life, self-portrait, and abstraction).
Techniques: Mixing, glazing, layering, impasto, alla prima, etc.
Goals: To give students the basic tools and ideas necessary to begin their own personal painting practice.
Materials: Acrylic (or oils), stretched canvas, brushes, etc.

Mondays, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
8 weeks – October 2 – November 27 (no class October 9)
Cost: $300 (class limited to 12 students)
Autobiographical Still Life Painting
In this course we will work from observation and use Still Life as the vehicle for self-expression. Refine your skills while exploring the use of symbolic objects and more expressive stylistic approaches to create work that speaks about you.
Techniques: Representational painting
Goals: To familiarize students with the use of symbols in art while strengthening observational, drawing, and painting skills
Materials: Acrylic and oil paint

8 weeks – October 4 – November 29 (no class November 22)
Cost: $300 (class limited to 12 students)
Sewing for Adults
Instructor: Demi Harvey
Learn to use a sewing machine, draft a pattern, take measurements, cut fabric and sew your own clothing. Projects will be discussed first day of class, choices may range from apron to bag to table runner to top, etc….
6 Saturdays, October 14 – November 18
11:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
$195 (fee includes materials except students bring in 2-3 yards of fabric of choice depending on project to be made)
Screen Painting 101
During a 5-week screen-printing class you can create your own design and screen print it onto a t-shirt, poster, cards, or flyers. Get your message out in an eye-catching way. Become an entrepreneur and create your own t-shirts and art.

Saturdays, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
5 Saturdays, October 14 – November 18 (No class November 11)
Cost: $180
(class fee includes a materials fee. Students take home frame at the end of the course)
Adult T-Shirt Quilt Workshop
Instructor: Demi Harvey
Do you have a sewing machine collecting dust? Have you always wanted to learn to sew but didn’t know where to start? This workshop is for you!
Gather up your old t-shirts to sew them up into a quilt! You will also learn the basics of sewing and become familiar with our sewing machines or bring your own.
