The tragic and vile actions last week in Charlottesville have shocked the nation and once again put the importance of tolerance and communication front and center. Milton is not immune to the implications and repercussions of these despicable acts, which stand in stark contrast to our proud status as a “No Place for Hate” community.
No demonstration should involve violence and there is no place in our country for the kind of hate we saw in Virginia.
In the spirit of unity, the Milton Board of Selectmen is partnering with the Milton Interfaith Clergy Association, Milton Persists, and various other civic organizations to sponsor a vigil this Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. on the Town Green at 525 Canton Avenue. We invite any resident who feels the negative impact from these terrible events to stand in solidarity with the town and show that this behavior is unacceptable and un-American. We hope you will join us.
