The Power of Wind: Learning is a Breeze to be held at Eustis Estate

When: Saturday, September 23, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Eustis Estate, 1424 Canton Avenue, Milton

Join Historic New England educators and staff from Milton’s Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Program to learn about the power of wind at the Eustis Estate. Explore the beautiful landscape while reading I Face the Wind by Vicki Cobb. During this StoryWalk®, families try fun wind-based experiments and activities, ending at the estate’s 1902 powerhouse, which originally included a wind turbine to provide electricity to the main house. Once there, you’re invited to make pinwheels, then face the wind and watch them spin. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds, and be sure to leave time to explore the inside of the museum.

This is a drop-in program. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended for children ages 4 to 10. Free for Historic New England members and Milton residents. Included with museum admission for nonmembers.

Please call 617-994-6600 for more information.
