New DPW Director to start work July 10
The Town of Milton has appointed Chase Berkeley to the position of Director of the Department of Public Works, Town Administrator Michael Dennehy has announced. He starts July 10.
“The Board of Selectmen and I are very happy to be able to appoint a professional of Chase Berkeley’s caliber to the position of Director of the Department of Public Works. Chase brings years of upper-level management as well as practical hands-on experience to this all-important job. Chase has worked throughout his career to enhance his skills, acquiring professional registration as a civil engineer in the Commonwealth as well as a grade D4 water superintendent distribution license.”
Berkeley comes to Milton from the Boston Water & Sewer Commission, where he held positions of increasing responsibility. He most recently served as Superintendent of Asset Management/Director of Capacity, Management, Operations and Maintenance. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Superintendent of Operations. His other positions in the Boston Water & Sewer Commission include Systems Engineer, Project Engineer and Field Services Engineer. He began work at the Boston Water & Sewer Commission in 2005.
Berkeley also has experience in the private sector, having worked as a co-op while getting his Civil Engineering Bachelor’s of Science degree at Northeastern University in Boston. As a co-op, he worked at J.J. Marshall & Sons of Pawtucket, R.I., as a site engineer; William A. Berry & Son of Danvers as an Assistant Project Coordinator; and Vanasse Hangen Brustlin of Watertown as an Engineering Assistant.
