Author Stephanie Schorow to join Milton Historical Society for “Crime of the Century” talk
The Milton Historical Society’s annual dinner will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Neighborhood Club of Quincy, 27 Glendale Road, Quincy.
Social Hour starts at 6:00 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. to be followed by the program. Author Stephanie Schorow will speak on the “Crime of the Century” on January 17, 1950 when seven robbers in Halloween masks walked into a counting room of the Brink’s armored car garage in Boston and walked out with $2.5 million in cash, checks and securities.
Stephanie is a Boston-based freelance writer. She is the author, co-author or editor of seven books on Boston including “Crime of the Century How the Brink’s Robbers stole millions and the hearts of Boston” ; Drinking Boston; Coconut Grove Fire; and East of Boston – Notes from Harbor Islands.
Due to limited seating, reservations are required. Menu choices are Roast Sirloin of Beef with pink peppercorn demi-glace or Baked Scrod with sherried bread crumbs. Multiple reservations can be made but be sure to include individual names, choice of menu and, if necessary names of other people you wish to be seated with. RSVP as soon as possible.
