After seven straight days of over 500+ low-flying arrivals passing over the same homes in Milton, again and again, town officials said that they have heard the frustrations of local residents and that now was the time to act. As such, town officials have announced that they will again be sending MassPort and the FAA a strongly-worded letter.
“I’m betting they don’t want to be on the end of another one.” – Milton Official
One local official stated that “the town has gotten really good at writing letters to MassPort and the FAA that clearly demonstrate the inequitable flight patterns that torment town residents, I’m betting they don’t want to be on the end of another one.” Long known as the Rodney Dangerfield of the communities surrounding Logan airport, Milton has seen a concentration of flights over the town in the last few years causing environmental and health problems for residents. At the time of print, MassPort’s executive board could not be reached for comment.
A MassPort spokesman did release statement on their behalf that stated that the MassPort executives were too busy counting the money from the increased gate fees to issue a reply any time soon.
