My name is Kim Conroy and I am running for a 3-year term for Town Meeting Member of District 7.
I am a full-time working mother of 2 little girls and an active member of the Milton community. My oldest daughter Emme (age 6) attends Kindergarten at Collicot and Maeve (age 3) attends Preschool at St. Agatha. Also, I am a member of Milton Playground Planners Steering Committee, a local nonprofit that is working to raise funds to renovate four of our town-owned playgrounds. Though I was raised in CT, my husband Tom is a long-time Milton resident and I was easily persuaded to move to Milton 7 years ago because of how much our wonderful town has to offer. My inlaws having lived in Milton for over 40 years still reside here in one of our 55 and older communities. With this, our family has roots in Milton. I care about our town’s history and even more importantly, our town’s future.
Though my time in Milton has been relatively short, I believe I would be a strong addition to our Town Meeting. My personal connection to both our youth and our senior community gives me a balanced perspective on the wants, needs and concerns of our neighbors. Though Milton is a wonderful town we are facing many challenges and I would extremely proud to be a voice in our community.
I graduated from UMASS Amherst with a dual degree in Economics and Social Thought and Political Economy and I earned my Master’s of Science in Business Management from Emmanuel College. My career path has taken me from a Merchant for Filene’s Department Stores to Account Management at Reebok and Converse. My most current position is Buyer for the Stop and Shop Divisions of Ahold Delhaize. My education and job experience has effectively taught me the importance of managing to budget, investing for growth and return on investment, flexibility to change and meeting the needs of our customers, or in this case, our community.
I hope you consider my candidacy for Town Meeting Member for Precinct 7 on April 25. Thank You!
