The Milton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, in concert with the Milton Public Schools Health and Wellness Committee, hosted a very successful and informative program for parents entitled “Safeguarding our Kids in Risky Times.” There were close to 250 parents in attendance, but many expressed disappointment that they could not make it.
The program included information and data about youth substance misuse in Milton, a scientific explanation of how drug and alcohol exposure impacts adolescent brain development, and what parents can do to raise resilient children.
Milton Cable Access TV taped the program and it can be viewed by watching this link: http://67.205.59.92/vod/index.php/7/f/8/7/5/b/7f875b1c-6d0d-4680-8833-95b1e4d110361475787894.260+288164.519@castus4-milton+14757927681475787993193784.1.vod.16_10_06_MSAPC.mp41080p.mp4#castusvod_autoplay=1.
Superintendent Mary Gormley expressed her wish that every Milton parent view it.
