Volunteer opportunities available:

There are many ways to become involved in the Coalition. Attending meetings and offering your ideas is one way. The Coalition meets approximately every 6 weeks. Meetings frequently feature engaging guest speakers.

Letting your friends and neighbors know about coalition activities, and encouraging them to attend through your personal networks is another way to be involved.

At this time, the MSAPC has established two working committees that meet in between coalition meetings (please scroll down to learn more about these working committees). These are important ways to become involved and help make the coalition’s work successful.

Contribute your expertise:

The MSAPC needs volunteers with specific interests and skills:

  • Designing Graphics and Communications Materials
  • Setting up Google Docs for community and coalition surveys
  • Maintaining a coalition newsletter (not writing articles, but administering it)
  • Computer Data entry (e.g., lists maintenance)
  • Create Social Media opportunities
  • Note taking for Coalition meetings
  • Professional work experience with substance abuse and mental health
  • Lived experience or a concerned citizen

About the MSAPC:

The Milton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition brings together a variety of stakeholders, professionals, and town officials to work collaboratively on preventing and addressing substance abuse and related mental health challenges in our Town of Milton. We recognize that our community is not immune from these problems, and we are motivated to face them together. We are also committed to making it easier for those afflicted with these disorders to get information about where to find help, and providing opportunities for them to contribute to and inform our work.

The coalition is sponsored by the Milton Board of Health.
