It’s Election Season!
I have served as Town Meeting Member for Precinct 4 for the last 6 years, and am running for re-election this coming Tuesday, April 26th. I am proud to represent Precinct 4 and participate in discussions and action on the issues facing the town.
I have lived in Milton with my husband, Paul Hays, for 14 years. We have two children who attend Tucker and Pierce, and thoroughly enjoy our Precinct 4 neighborhood. We are both committed to serving the town, and I am a volunteer at Tucker and a board member of the Milton Foundation for Education. Paul is currently a library Trustee. We are proud to call Milton home and are dedicated to keeping it a safe, vibrant, and diverse community with high quality schools, services, and open spaces.
Currently, there are key issues to be addressed by Town Meeting, including the proposed Ice House development in our neighborhood, other zoning issues, the annual budget, and the prospect of an over-ride campaign in the coming years.
- I support the Ice House development which could provide much needed amenities in our neighborhood and enhance the current state of the property on the Parkway. Moderate growth and development is critical to maintaining our commercial tax base and residential property values.
- As a career educator and active supporter of the schools and library, I will advocate for appropriate funding levels for these vital institutions in our community to ensure the delivery of high quality services to the town.
- The Warrant Committee and the Selectmen have acknowledged the need for an operational over-ride in the coming years. As someone who was active in the last over-ride campaign, I am a knowledgeable voice in this debate.
Please vote for me on April 26th!
Thank you,
Piel Hollingsworth
