I’m Michael Chinman, running for Town Moderator. I’ve spent my entire career–almost three decades as a lawyer, more than half of that as a prosecutor–being neutral, fair, earning respect. I want to bring those qualities to the position of Moderator.
What would things look like if I was the Moderator? Town Meeting would be run fairly and efficiently, and that means allowing use of motions to end debate, bring matters to a vote.
It means the town committees appointed by the Moderator–especially the Warrant Committee–will be appointed fairly, without bias, without blackballing.
It means no one will ever wonder if a large contribution to my campaign would help get a committee appointment. I will not accept large contributions, nothing over $20. None.
It means no cronyism. I’m not a member of any of the political cliques in town.
It means encouraging and facilitating open communication between residents and their Town Meeting representatives. Your voice at Town Meeting needs to be heard, and more easily.
That’s what I want to do. I’m asking for your vote. On April 26, just remember: Michael for Moderator.
