On Tuesday, April 12, the Friends of the Blue Hills will host its first Peek-a-Blue Hike of the year. These free, one-hour guided hikes created for babies and toddlers are offered every other Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Houghton’s Pond main parking lot at 840 Hillside Street in Milton. Free snacks and drinks are provided, and there will be a simple scavenger hunt with all children receiving a prize at the end. Although the meeting place is always the same, the hike route varies. Parents, grandparents, and child care givers are all welcome.
Peek-a-Blue Hikes are made possible by a grant from the Milton Junior Woman’s Club, and L.L. Bean at Legacy Place in Dedham provides an experienced hiker to co-lead the hikes. Peek-a-Blue Hikes will continue through December, weather permitting.
