Annie Davis has announced her candidacy for re-election as Town Meeting Member in Precinct 2. Annie has lived in Milton since 1988 and has been active in numerous community organizations. She was elected to the Glover School Site Council, served as member and chair of the Milton Community Schools, and was one of the early parents involved in initiating the extended-day Kindergarten (KEDS) program. She was previously on the board of the Milton Historical Society, is on the committee of Milton Reads, and is a Friend of the Library.
Annie has also worked in Milton, serving on the staff of the Forbes House Museum for ten years.
A certified high school teacher with classroom teaching experience, she recently retired as the New England educator for the U.S. National Archives. She holds a B.A. in Literature from the University of California, San Diego, and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University.
“Along with my firm support of our schools, library, and cultural life, I will work to help address specific issues for Precinct 2. Some of our challenges relate to the commercial future of the Central/Eliot business area, a vision for future commercial development, preservation of green space and historic places, smart growth, public transportation, and public safety,” explains Davis. “And these are also issues for the entire community.”
Annie and her husband Frank Schroth have two children, Meg and Steve, both proud graduates of Milton High School. The family has strongly supported Milton’s fine and performing arts, athletics, and the French Immersion program.
“I have been involved in the Town of Milton since we moved here, and I hope to continue to serve our community as a town meeting member. My door is open to all people and points of view; I will work hard to represent the many voices of Precinct 2 and the Town of Milton.”
Annie would appreciate your Pct 2 vote for Margaret ANN Davis for Town Meeting Member.
