On January 27, 2016, Milton’s Board of Selectmen will host a Town wide educational meeting for the stormwater utility warrant article that will be considered at the Special Town Meeting scheduled for February 8. The warrant article is for the purpose of creating a stormwater utility fee in order to fund the Town’s compliance with the EPA’s stormwater management requirements.
The Neponset River Watershed Association will be facilitating the information session on behalf of the Town and will outline the EPA’s view of the importance of stormwater management, how it is changing, the scope of managing stormwater, the maintenance of the program and the fairness of the cost.
The proposed fee structure associated with the stormwater utility would be imposed on each parcel of residential and non-residential property, whether occupied or not.
This meeting will be held at Milton High School’s auditorium at 7:30 p.m. and will be approximately 90 minutes in length.
Town Meeting members and residents are encouraged to attend. There will be a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
