From the Desk of Milton Public Schools Superintendent Mary Gormley:
We are pleased to announce that the Milton Public Schools have been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, targeted for an Innovative Pre-School Program. We have State Senator Brian A. Joyce to thank for advocating for these critical state funds to pilot a pre-school here in the Milton Public Schools that will educate children from families of low income who would not otherwise be enrolled in any form of pre-school. A limited number of seats will be available to the children of families who are not low income. We would also like to extend thanks to Representative Walter F. Timilty who advocated for these funds as well as for the full-day kindergarten grant.
