Braintree welcomes Gourmet Sandwich Shop
Milton Neighbor Mark Minerd opened a Jimmy John’s franchise this past August. The new gourmet sandwich shop is located in Braintree (911 Washington Street). An accomplished food and beverage professional, Minerd, founder and CEO of Black and Gold Hospitality, LLC, has a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences — whether they be the gourmet recipes of Julia Child or a really exceptional sandwich.
Why Braintree?
Minerd wanted to work on the south shore and liked the small town feel of Braintree. He felt there was a need for a great sandwhich shop and the square was the perfect location.
Why Jimmy John’s?
Minerd chose Jimmy John’s because it’s a fun brand, he loves the product, and they hold high standards with a committment to quality. He especially loves the bread — it’s fresh baked throughout the day.
Favorite sandwich?
“It’s a toss up between #9 Italian Night Club with hot peppers and #12 Beach Club, no mayo Jimmy’d up.”
Why Milton?
Milton is a beautiful town with a rural, yet contemporary feel
Dina and Mark Minerd moved to Milton from South Boston in 2010: “We knew we wanted to have children, so finding the right community to raise a family was important to us and Milton offered just that, not to mention an amazing school system. Milton is a beautiful town with a rural, yet contemporary feel – we love the history and the charm of the older holmes. We also love Boston, so being in close proximity was important.”
Next time you’re out and about, stop at the Braintree location for one of Minerd’s favorites!
